The Dave McCormick Volunteers In Mission
Memorial Scholarship
In 2007 the VIM community said goodbye to a friend and fellow missionary, Dave McCormick. Dave passed
away from injuries sustained in a farming accident near his home in Yale, MI.
Dave spent a week in Gautier, Mississippi in March of 2006, helping to tear off and reshingle a 2500 square foot roof damaged by Hurricane Katrina.
Those of us who were able to spend time with Dave got to meet “one of the best.” Dave was always quick with a smile, a joke or what had become his trademark “Hang loose” with thumb and pinky
outstretched. He was truly a blessing to have on the March team. We couldn’t have done it without you buddy.

We here at New Hope in Shelby Township, have established, with the family’s blessings, a VIM Memorial Scholarship Fund in Dave’s name.
This fund will be used to offset the cost of mission trips of individuals who may not be able to afford the entire cost of a mission trip and also as the fund grows our dream is to be able to send an entire team in Dave’s name to assist in
disaster relief efforts.
We have followed Dave’s lead and stepped out in faith to establish this fund to help those financially be able to join teams as he stepped out in faith to help those in need 1100 miles from home.
HOW YOU CAN HELP: If you are interested in becoming a donor to this fund either in a one-time donation or yearly pledge, please see the contact info below.
Dave we miss you dearly and until we stand with each other in front of our Lord “Hang Loose!”
